The body defence of scales is called a lorica plumata because the pine scales resemble feathers. He is wearing leather upper arm and kilt defences (pteryges), for protection, over a tunic. Although eagle bearers were usually bare headed it might be expected for them to wear a helmet in combat. His weapons are a sword (gladius) and a dagger. This 13cm tall Roman is made of resin and is hand painted.
